Jon Huertas’ work spans television, film and music, highlights for which he’s been recognized for his work on “Castle” with a 2013 Imagen Award win for Best Actor and a 2012 ALMA Award win for best Supporting Actor.  He also starred as the outspoken and gritty Sgt. Antonio “Poke” Espera in the highly acclaimed, Emmy nominated miniseries “Generation Kill,” as well as in a number of other TV series, including “Prison Break,” “Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles,” “NCIS,” “CSI” and “Without a Trace.”

Huertas has recently became a professional recording artist. He attributes the ability to create and distribute a Project like “Grown & Sexy Music” (his first album) to Technology, Social Media and the amazing evolution of the “Independent Artist” in the Music Business.  Huertas is also passionate about producing and directing and has built an impressive catalog of projects, From his directorial debut “Lone”, his current project “The Box” to Neil LaBute’s “After School Special” and acclaimed documentaries like “Sahaya Going Beyond” with Jeremy Irons, “The Hill Chris Climbed: The Gridiron Heroes Story” with Taylor Kitsch and the Documentary features “Ricky,” and “American Dreamers” currently in production.

Growing up on the East Coast, Huertas was a consummate class clown, played on his high school football team, studied Martial Arts, and worked at Sears.  After his Eight year stint as a Aircraft Weapons Specialist in the Air Force he packed up and moved to Los Angeles to pursue the childhood dream he had of becoming an actor.  Currently he serves on the National and Local Board of Directors for SAG-AFTRA.
