Jackie Perez is an MIT engineer, Nuclear Naval Officer, and Horror filmmaker. After receiving her commission from MIT ROTC, she deployed performing counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden on USS Chosin and qualified as a Nuclear Engineering Officer onboard the USS Harry S. Truman. After five years of Naval service she left active duty and started a new career in the film industry where she worked at Creative Artists Agency for partner Michelle Kydd Lee and at Justin Lin’s Perfect Storm Entertainment for Ben Shields Catlin and Mary Lee, SVPs of Film and Television. She left the business side of the industry to focus on the creative, graduating with an MFA in TV and Screenwriting from Stephens College and starting a genre production company, Pointed Pictures. She is a graduate of the Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Writing program, the founder of CAA Vets, and a Lieutenant in the Navy Reserves and currently on active duty orders as the Navy's West Coast City Outreach Officer. She loves exploring new places and plays the banjo. She LOVES horror and believes that genre is a perfect approach to exploring difficult subjects
