Veteran Internship Program

As Veterans Day approaches, the entertainment community is continuing its goal of expanding career opportunities for military vets. Got Your 6 and Veterans in Media and Entertainment, along with major entertainment partners, today announced the Veteran Fellowship Program, a new initiative designed to place and mentor qualified veteran interns throughout the industry.

FALL 2018 Events and Classes

Hey VME, check out some of our past events, and check out what is coming up this summer. Save the date, November 13th, for the next VME Guest Speaker Athena Wickham, producer of Westworld, 11.23.63, Revolution, Person of Interest, etc. Athena began her career with JJ Abrams at Bad Robot and is now an executive of Kilter Films (Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s company).

Special Screening and Panel of THE NIGHT SHIFT

NBC Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television invited VME to an evening with the creators, writer, and guest stars of the special episode of The Night Shift entitled Keep The Faith, on August 8th, 2017 at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, California.  The evening featured a powerful veteran's storyline and many veterans in front of the camera and behind and included a Screening, Panel Discussion, and Light Dessert Reception.

"THE ART OF THE PITCH: THE AGENT'S TAKE" with Jim Arnoff

Jim Arnoff, a Television Packaging Agent representing New York production companies (reality, documentary, non-fiction and scripted) in developing and selling original programming to the networks and new media, took the time to teach classes in LA and NYC to VME members. He spoke to members in LA and NYC about the anatomy of a pitch, whether it's your film, your television series or your services and it takes to do a successful pitch.

VME – DC Chapter Mixer and Launch

The Veterans in Media & Entertainment Washington, D.C., Chapter launched this month with a mixer hosted by Biergarten Haus Resturant, a Bavarian-style beer hall, which brought back great memories for our Veterans stationed in Germany. The amazing show of Veteran and community talent in Media, Film, TV and the Arts was confirmation that a VME DC presence is needed, and wanted.
